This is a collection of my three favourite LUTS that I've developed over time as a sports filmmaker.
These are looks I used on a daily basis to colour grade my footage in order to give it a distinct yet impactful look, and I'm glad to finally share them in order to give you the ability to grade your footage and to create looks that work for you and your sport films!

Each lut comes with two versions, one for LOG based footage (such as SLOG2, CLOG, SLOG 3) and one for flat picture profiles (such as CINE4 & HLG).
Please keep in mind, LUTs are NOT a one stop fix for colour grading - these were developed with particular lighting situations in mind, and the look will definitely differ depending on how your video is shot!
A few quick tips to ensure the best results:
- Make sure you expose your video PROPERLY if you intend to use these, they are not going to fix a improperly exposed video, so you may have trouble if you end up being over or under exposed.
- If you find the LUT comes on a little too strong, use the intensity slider in your video editing program in order to fix that issue. Colour grading should be subtle!
- If you find the footage comes out a little too warm or cold, make sure you adjust the colour temperature when colour grading to see better results.
Like I said, they won't be a quick solution, so you may have to play around with other settings in your corrections. Often pulling down the highlights, adjusting shadows, changing contrast and saturation or temperature can make a big difference!
